Laevo 2-Week Test Period

The Laevo 2-week test period is the most cost-effective way to try one of our exoskeletons! We will meet at the Laevo office (Rijswijk, The Netherlands) or online to make sure the exoskeleton is fitted well. Continue to read below to learn more!

This test period is suited for small businesses or businesses with limited exoskeleton scalability. For others, Laevo created the Enterprise Package which contains onsite analysis, supervisor training from our experts, and materials on how to successfully implement exoskeletons into your workforce.

What is the Purpose of the test period?

The purpose of the test period is to determine together whether the exoskeleton fits your workplace, tasks, users, business processes, and culture. During the test period, it is important to explore how the exoskeleton can be given a permanent place in the (existing) business processes.

What does a test period look like?

  1. Remote workplace analysis

Before we even start the test period we will ask you to take videos or photos of the workplace and tasks where the exoskeleton could potentially be used. Together we will determine if and how we can apply one of our exoskeletons.

  2. Demonstration and kick-off

If there is potential, we will send an exoskeleton to you, or you can pick it up at our office. One of our specialists will give a demonstration of the exoskeleton, online or at our office. We explain what to expect from the exoskeleton and support you in carefully adjusting the size of the exoskeleton.

  3. Test period and (interim) contact

The test period begins. Of course, Laevo is available for questions.

  4. Evaluation

After the test period, the exoskeleton is returned and we evaluate the experiences and results together.

What should I keep in mind during the test period?

Often, workers have been performing tasks in the same way for years. The exoskeleton allows them to perform the task in a different (ergonomic) way. It is therefore important that users are given time to get used to the exoskeleton and "relearn" the task. We recommend building up the use of the exoskeleton: the first day is one hour, the second day is two hours, the third day is four hours, and the fifth day is eight hours.

It might also be necessary to adapt (existing) working processes to the exoskeleton. For example, it is not practical to take the exoskeleton on and off frequently during your working day. We therefore recommend that testers perform the tasks where the exoskeleton is constantly needed. This does not have to be the entire shift or day. It may be necessary to redistribute tasks or redesign existing task rotation. Practical matters, such as storage of the exoskeleton, also need to be considered. We are of course happy to advise and support this.

Who is best suited to using an exoskeleton?

A good tester is open to new technology and is given time and space to try out the benefits of the exoskeleton. It is important that the tester is motivated to use the exoskeleton and is willing to solve challenges. A worker who has (experienced) back problems is quicker to feel the benefits of the exoskeleton, so always a good starting point for a short trial period.

can I test for a shorter or longer period?

We recommend a test period of two weeks. About 1 week to gradually build up the wearing time and 1 week of full usage. We recommend gradually building up the wearing time because your body will need time to adjust to the exoskeleton. If you need more time we can of course plan a longer test period or check if we can extend it.
